He has attracted interest from the likes of Napoli, Lazio, Juventus, Genoa and Leicester City.

“So far we haven’t really discussed the transfer market, as he was concentrated on getting Pescara promoted and I think that was obvious from his performances,” agent Gianluca Libertazzi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Now there is time for celebration. Could he remain at Pescara? Anything is possible. He has a strong mentality and on Friday morning he called me up, saying he wanted to win again next season. That’s Lapadula.”

The 26-year-old has an Italian father and Peruvian mother, but was born and raised in Italy.

He has already received a call-up by Peru for the Copa America and has not officially decided which international side to represent.

“We never heard from Antonio Conte,” continued the agent. “Peru called, but he didn’t want to just make a decision based on his career prospects.

“He has never been to Peru, as he was born and raised in Italy. His mother is Peruvian, but he feels Italian and did not want to accept the call-up from Peru purely to take advantage of the opportunity. He doesn’t know the language well, let alone the country.”
