Kyle Lafferty is pleased to have scored the winning goal in Palermo’s Sicilian derby victory over Trapani.

The Northern Irishman now has 10 Serie B goals this season but is targeting a further five before being satisfied with his haul.

When asked to compare this latest derby experience with others he has experienced, the 26-year-old also maintained that the Old Firm match was still his personal favourite.

“Winning a match of that kind was very important,” Lafferty said to Palermo24.net. “But let’s not forget we are playing again on Thursday.

“It was a special occasion but the important thing was the three points.

“A lot of people say the Glasgow derby is the best in the world and I agree, the Old Firm game is incredible.

“The true derby here is probably with Catania but that’s not to say the match with Trapani didn’t feel like a derby.

“I never set myself limits but if I can score 15 goals I would be very happy. The important thing is that the team is successful.”
