La Liga president Javier Tebas celebrated the resignation of former Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli, calling it ‘great news’.

Agnelli and the other board of directors members unexpectedly resigned on Monday, leaving the Bianconeri in a difficult position in the midst of the mid-season break. John Elkann, the CEO of Juventus’ holding company Exor, confirmed that Massimiliano Allegri would retain his position as head coach and called the resignations an ‘act of responsibility’.

Writing on Twitter, Tebas was seemingly overjoyed to see the resignation of Agnelli, calling him out for his behaviour and backing of the Super League project.

“Dear Andrea Agnelli, you spent so many years ‘manipulating’ balance sheets, evaluations, documents, to ‘deceive’ public authorities, sport, shareholders, fans… and in the same way you wanted to deceive the football world with the goodness of the Super League. Your resignation is great news.”

Earlier today, La Liga released an official statement asking for Juventus to face immediate sporting sanctions for their behaviour.

The club had been cleared of inflating players transfer values in their balance sheets earlier this year but now an investigation has been opened regarding the secret payment of players salaries during the early stages of the COVID pandemic.

  1. Agnelli can now spend time with Mr. FTX and they can cook up some new scams. Do not involve PhD Max as he is a numbers man only when counting backwards
