Talks between the representatives of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Napoli are not progressing well, with a huge gap between the club’s offer and the player’s requests.
The 22-year-old Georgian winger is still on the initial contract he signed when arriving from Dinamo Batumi 18 months ago. As such, he is one of the lowest earners in the squad, only receiving around €1m net per season plus add-ons.
Earning less than players like Jens Cajuste, Mario Rui and Diego Demme, Kvaratskhelia and his agent Mamuka Jugeli have been pushing for a new lucrative contract at Napoli following his explosive debut campaign, which saw him score 14 goals and provide 17 assists across 43 total games.
As reported by Giovanni Annunziata of Calciomercato.com, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has offered Kvaratskhelia a new contract worth close to €4m net per season, tripling his salary as a reward for his instant impact.
Talks have not progressed, however, as the winger’s agent Jugeli is pushing for almost double that, wanting a salary of at least €7m net per season.
