Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was overjoyed following the thrilling 6-1 Champions League win over Ajax last night.

The 21-year-old Georgian winger has had an incredible start to life in Italy, being one of the stars of the show in Luciano Spalletti’s squad. Kvaratskhelia has scored six goals and provided four assists in his first 11 games for Napoli and he was on fire at the Johan Cruyff Arena yesterday, playing a key role in their statement win.

Speaking to UEFA after the match, Kvaratskhelia underlined his happiness following Napoli’s win over Ajax.

“I think dreams come true because I’m playing in the Champions League and I scored today. I’m so happy, but it was also important for the team to win.”

He spoke highly about teammate Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who had a great game against the Dutch giants.

“He’s a great man, a great captain and a great footballer. He deserves the award because he’s very important for Napoli.”

Finally, Kvaratskhelia gave his thoughts on Ajax following their painful defeat.

“They didn’t play well today, but they’re a good team and have good players. They need to move forward. I wish them good luck.”

Napoli’s electric start to the season sees them top of the Serie A table and top of Group A in the Champions League, three points ahead of second place Liverpool.
