Roma coach Jose Mourinho has given Marash Kumbulla a chance to re-claim a place in the squad after the exclusion against Napoli.
The centre-back is the only one of the excluded players to have received a call-up for the trip to Cagliari and Il Corriere dello Sport claims he has been given a chance for a new start.
The fiasco against Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League proved costly for a host of the players in La Lupa’s squad and Amadou Diawara’s agent claimed Mourinho has created ‘an uncomfortable environment’ at Trigoria.
The newspaper points at the fact that Kumbulla is the only available centre-back for the bench against the Rossoblu in Sardinia, with Chris Smalling expected to be back at the end for November.
But Kumbulla is now in a position that he must exploit to his advantage, to be ready in case the coach needs him and make Mourinho forget about all the mistakes made in Norway.
The Rome-based newspaper claims Kumbulla was one of the worst performers in Bodo, when he started the third game in the European competition.
