The Giallorossi have picked up four points from three games, thanks to a 3-0 defeat by default in the first match of the season.

Kumbulla arrived from Hellas Verona during the summer and has quickly settled in his new surroundings and enjoys the ‘united’ dressing room at the club.

“I certainly liked the dressing room, we are united,” Kumbulla told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s nice to joke and laugh, but there are also moments of seriousness. That’s what struck me the most.”

And the centre-back revealed the new owners from The Friedkin Group are ‘always’ present at Trigoria.

“They are always here, we see them almost every day,” the defender added. “They have made a very good impression on me.”

Chris Smalling has returned to Roma, but an injury prevents him from playing against Benevento on Sunday and Kumbulla is expected play his third game.

He said he learns a lot by playing against the Roma forwards in training and praised Bosnian Edin Dzeko, who seemed set for a move to Juventus last month.

“Dzeko is very difficult to mark in training, but he helps me a lot to improve,” Kumbulla said. “Having players like him to mark in every session can only improve me.

“I think he’s well, he fully trains and is an example for all of us. He’s our captain, I find him very well and I’m sure he’ll do well on Sunday or in the next games.”
