Napoli are working to convince Antonio Conte to become their new head coach and have reportedly started preparing to negotiate with Tottenham for Dejan Kulusevski.

Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis knows that an important response is needed in the summer following the team’s incredibly chaotic post-Scudetto season, which has now seen three different coaches in the dugout – Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona.

Conte has long been considered by De Laurentiis as the best option for Napoli and he is still working to convince the tactician to take on the job at the end of the season. The pair have a close relationship, and the courtship has been going on since October.

Kulusevski interest

As reported by local outlet Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, De Laurentiis is hoping to use the transfer market to convince Conte of the Napoli job and has identified Kulusevski as a strong option, knowing the coach’s appreciation of the Swede.

The Partenopei are preparing to open negotiations with Tottenham in the coming months but it’s clear that Kulusevski won’t come cheap, having a contract in North London lasting to June 2028.
