Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers will officiate Wednesday evening’s Champions League clash between Roma and Barcelona.

UEFA announced today that the 42-year-old, who took charge of the 2014 Champions League final, has been selected to take charge of the clash at Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi have a good record with Kuipers, as he oversaw the 1-1 draw away to Manchester City last season and a 3-2 win against Basel in 2010.

He has also taken charge of six Barcelona matches in previous years, which have yielded three wins, two draws and one defeat for the Blaugrana.

The opening match of Champions League Group E will kick off in the Italian capital at 19:45 UK time on Wednesday evening.
