Rade Krunic says Stefano Pioli has been important for his stay at Milan and adds he can play in any role in midfield.

"The coach demands the best from everyone. I am a professional and I give the best,” Krunic told at a press conference with Stefano Pioli.

“I put determination and commitment in every game, I think the coach has faith in me. His arrival was important to me, at the beginning I didn’t play. He put me onto the pitch, even as a starter. If I stayed it is also thanks to him.”

Paolo Maldini has recently praised the former Empoli man.

"I’m very happy with my teammates, the coach and who relies on me. [Maldini’s words] mean a lot, last year I had many injuries and I was not as good as I expected.

“They showed me that they still believe so much in me and that I can still give so much to Milan.”

Krunic may start in midfield behind the main striker against Sparta Praha tomorrow.

“I like this role,” Krunic said.

“I played in that position at Empoli. In theory, my favourite role is the ‘mezzala’, but we don’t have this position in our system.

“I can play as a trequartista or as a midfielder, for me every role is fine.

“I am always available for Milan. I like the role, I’m closer to the goal. It’s not my best quality, but I can give something in that position too.

“We’ve got a tough game ahead of us, against a team we’ll be analysing today and tomorrow.

“We don’t know the European teams so well, in Serie A we all know each other a bit more. We hope to win and reach six points.

"The coach told us that they are intense and put a lot of rhythm".
