Rade Krunic is pushing to recover in time to face Juventus, while also discussing a new contract with Milan, asking to double his salary.

The midfielder has been out of action since September 24 with a muscular problem and is rushing to make his comeback for the Serie A showdown with Juventus on October 22.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Krunic is ready to take back his midfield spot from Yacine Adli after a month out and gear up for the upcoming fixtures with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and reigning Serie A champions Napoli.

There are some behind the scenes issues to work out too, because he was on the verge of leaving in the summer, but Milan could not agree terms with Fenerbahce.

Krunic just turned 30 last week and his current contract at San Siro runs until June 2025, having penned a new deal only a year ago.

His current salary is circa €1.5m per season, but the report suggests the Bosnia and Herzegovina international wants to double his wages.

The offer from Milan is closer to €2.5m per season net including bonuses.

  1. I wouldn’t say he’s worth 3m per season. He’s a pretty average player with a low market value. He’s done decently enough for us covering for Bennacer/Tonali but it’s easy to get another player of his level in that role. 2.5 is reasonable.
