Sampdoria midfielder Nenad Krsticic has insisted the squad are as happy as ever, despite going down to their first loss of the season last weekend.
Ciro Ferrara's team lost 1-0 to Napoli on Sunday, but the Serbia U-21 international has indicated that the players will do all they can to return to their winning ways, starting on Saturday against Chievo.
“The feeling in the dressing room is great,” he told the club's official Facebook page. “The group is as solid as ever. The noise from the fans automatically gives us a lift – they are our 12th man.”
He also commented on his personal situation in Genoa, and whether he sees himself moving away from the Blucerchiati.
“I feel fine at Sampdoria,” he said. “I am continuing to play regularly. If at the beginning of my time here someone told me that we would be promoted and I would have played so much football, I would not have believed them.
“But it has happened, and I am really happy. My desire is to stay at Sampdoria for as long as possible.”
The 22-year-old concluded by revealing who his footballing idol was growing up, and how he can help this Samp side finish as high as possible in the table.
“The player who inspired me the most is Andrea Pirlo. My favourite position to play is his at the base of the midfield. But I have also adapted well to the wide positions – as I have shown at the start of this season.”
