Real Madrid star Toni Kroos reveals what he told Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal vs. Germany on Saturday, while a tweet from Real Madrid has fuelled speculation about CR7’s return.

Ronaldo’s Juventus contract expires in June 2022, but the future of the Portuguese ace in Turin is in doubt as he will only decide his fate after the European Championships.

The 36-year-old has scored three goals in two appearances at Euro 2020. The last one came in Portugal’s 4-2 defeat against Germany on Saturday. At the end of the game, Ronaldo spent some time talking to his former Real Madrid teammate Toni Kroos, grabbing the attention of many.

It was the Real Madrid midfielder himself to reveal what he had talked about with his former teammate.

“I played with Ronaldo for four seasons. And I am not exaggerating when I say that I had the greatest successes with him and thanks to him,” the 31-year-old told Einfach mal Luppen, the podcast he shares with his brother Felix.

“We were neighbours in the dressing room throughout that period and I was glad to see him. We haven’t seen each other for a long time, Real haven’t played against Juventus.

“We talked briefly about the match and the upcoming matches. I wish them the best of luck, I hope they qualify for the next round, just like us.

“Also, I asked how Italy suited him because he has been there for three years.”

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in a €112m deal in 2018.

He has scored 101 goals in 133 games with the Bianconeri, while he netted 450 in 438 games during his nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meantime, a tweet from Real Madrid has fuelled speculations about Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the Spanish capital.

The Merengues posted a picture of the conversation between Ronaldo and Kroos, but those who see a sign of Ronaldo’s return to Madrid should remember what Los Blancos’ President Florentino Perez said in April: ‘He is not coming back. He has a contract with Juventus and it doesn’t make sense for him to return. I love him very much, he has given us a lot.’

Sky Sport also reports it is unlikely to imagine the 36-year-old return to his former club.
