Kownacki scored eight goals for Samp last season but has failed to start a single Serie A match in 2018-19, while moves to the likes of Fortuna Dusseldorf and Empoli have broken down this month.

Kownacki scored eight goals for Samp last season but has failed to start a single Serie A match in 2018-19, while moves to the likes of Fortuna Dusseldorf and Empoli have broken down this month.

“I’m fed up and I’ve had enough of Sampdoria's behaviour,” the Poland striker told sport.se.pl.

“I’m angry because time has passed and I still don’t know where my future lies. I don’t want to stay, I want to leave and I don’t want to go back. I want to close this chapter once and for all.

“I did pretty well last year, but the situation has changed this season and no-one has told me the reason why.

“Fortuna Dusseldorf are ready to make a big economic effort for me. I don’t want to stay on the bench for the next six months.

“The Germans offered €12m, but Sampdoria wanted €500,000 for the loan. We reached an agreement, I went back to training but I was then told me that [Samp] wanted to keep me in Italy so they could check up on me. I never want to come back.

“I was optimistic after my first season. Serie A was something new for me and I knew I’d need some time to settle.

“I scored five goals in Serie A and three in the Coppa Italia. It was a very positive season. I then went to the World Cup and when I returned to Genoa, the situation got worse.

“I don’t understand why, no-one explained anything to me. How much space have I been given this season? None! I honestly didn’t expect it.

“On January 6 Sampdoria told me about the offers and everything was arranged, but Caprari got injured.

“I was the fourth-choice striker and then dropped to fifth choice after the arrival of Gabbiadini. The fifth!

“I should wait for two other forwards to get injured too so I get a chance, but I absolutely don’t want that. I’m not worse than them.”
