According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is unhappy as the Partenopei rejected an opening €30m bid from Manchester United to sign him.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Maradona for a long time and the Red Devils have apparently offered him an escape route.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Premier League giants offered €30m to sign the Senegal international, but Napoli rejected the proposal coming from Old Trafford.

According to the report, it was the player’s agent Fali Ramadani, to inform Napoli about Manchester United offer.

Koulibaly has two years left in his contract with the Azzurri and is considering leaving the club where he arrived in 2014 in a €7.5m deal from Genk.

The Napoli centre-back is reportedly unhappy that the Partenopei rejected United’s opening bid to sign him.

New Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti hopes Koulibaly will change his mind, opting to remain at the Stadio Maradona in 2021-22.

On the other hand, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is open to selling, but expects a higher offer for the experienced defender.
