Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent confirms the centre-back stayed at Napoli “to try and win the Scudetto”.

None of the Partenopei’s first team players left this summer, and it’s widely reported they all vowed to stay together to aim for the title.

The players even voluntarily returned early from holiday, and Koulibaly’s agent confirms that’s why the defender remained at the San Paolo.

The players even voluntarily returned early from holiday, and Koulibaly’s agent confirms that’s why the defender remained at the San Paolo.

“The Scudetto pact?” Bruno Satin considered on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Kalidou stayed because he has a strong contract and he knows that with these teammates and this staff they can have important ambitions and try to win the Scudetto.

Koulibaly has returned from international duty with Senegal, and had a penalty awarded against him for handball in the 2-1 defeat to South Africa.

However, referee Joseph Lamptey was later banned for “match manipulation” so the fixture will have to be replayed in November.

“Kalidou already knew about the news that they’d replay the game with the national team. The level of refereeing is low, and we know that, but not to this point.

“Now playing this match between Senegal and South Africa again creates a precedent.

“Koulibaly was angry because he didn’t play in the second game, and Senegal were held to a draw right at the end.”
