Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly was racially abused after the 2-1 win against Fiorentina on Sunday. ‘They called me f****** monkey’.

The Partenopei star hit back at a group of Viola fans who had racially abused hit after the clash at the Artemio Franchi.

The defender confirmed he was racially abused on Twitter this morning, asking for the club to identify the supporters and ban them from the stadiums.

“F****** monkey. That’s what they called me,” he said. “These subjects have nothing to do with sport.

“They must be identified and kept out of the stadiums: forever. #NoToRacism.”

Victor Osimhen supported his teammate after the match with a statement on social media, while Fiorentina director Joe Barone reportedly went to personally apologise to Koulibaly

  1. I just don’t understand the logic. These people put on the visage of civility before the game, then during the game and after the game the mask slips and they show who they really are. For what? Do they think the referee will award them 2 goals? Idiots.

  2. He’s right. These fines for clubs and closing the stadium are the biggest waste of time ever. The clowns who are abusing don’t give a damn about club fines or a few games behind closed doors.
Best way to solve it would be to have undercover “fans” standing in several sections of the crowd in every game. With the aid of the stadium’s CCTV, they should be able to identify those losers, and then have them banned for life.
If these idiots think they’re being watched, they’ll keep their mouths shut a lot more.
