Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has passed his Chelsea medical with flying colours and is set to fly out to join his new teammates in America.

The 31-year-old arrived in London last night via a private jet from Milan, where he extended his summer vacation and therefore cancelled joining up with the Napoli pre-season training camp in Dimaro.

The Senegal international had his medical today and Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà reports he passed with flying colours.

Now the next step will be to film his announcement video with Chelsea, then get some rest before flying out to the United States of America on Friday morning.

The Blues are already in America for their pre-season tour and training camp.

Napoli agreed to sell Koulibaly to Chelsea for €38m plus another €2m in add-ons, with the player penning a five-year contract believed to be worth €10m per season including bonuses.

K2 is the second signing of the new Chelsea era under owner Todd Boehly, after Raheem Sterling left Manchester City for €57m.

  1. wow, what chelsea needs now is lewandowski, kounde and a back up for reece james and they win everything

  2. If we have Lewandowski, Riceand Naymar then we will be champions of UCL EPL and domestic trophies.

  3. Chelsea need 4 more players like… Leroy Sane , lewandoski , kounde and Leo Dubois from Lyon if we have this I swear we going to bring EPL to London again

  4. Wow, so many chelsea fans show up in the comment section for this Koulibaly’s article.
Anyway K2 deserves this move and his last chance if big contract. ADL has nothing to complaint since he tried to offer much lower salary. Besides it’s 40M for 31 years old player, quite a good deal for Napoli (if they reinvent the fund properly)
