According to La Repubblica, Chelsea’s Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the options for Inter if Milan Skriniar doesn’t sign a contract extension with the Nerazzurri.

The Serie A giants have made their offer to extend Skriniar’s contract expiring in June 2023. They are confident that the Slovakia international will commit his future to the club although they didn’t match the salary PSG had offered last summer when Skriniar had agreed on personal terms with the Ligue 1 giants.

Inter refused to sell their star defender who has now also attracted interest from Premier League clubs.

Director Piero Ausilio confirmed earlier this week that Inter are waiting for a reply from the player’s entourage.

According to Repubblica, there are no guarantees that Skriniar will extend his contract with Inter, so the Nerazzurri are making assessments on the potential replacement for the 27-year-old.

According to the report, Chelsea’s Koulibaly is one of the options considered by the Nerazzurri as coach Simone Inzaghi is a ‘long-time admirer’ of the former Napoli centre-back.

The Senegal captain is struggling with playing time at Stamford Bridge but has recently confirmed that he is happy at the club.

Chelsea and Inter directors are on good terms following Romelu Lukaku’s return to the Stadio Meazza last summer and the Blues are now interested in Denzel Dumfries.

Roma defender Chris Smalling is another Inter target. His contract at the Stadio Olimpico expires in the summer and Juventus are also keen. Likewise, Spezia and Poland defender Jakub Kiwior has been monitored by the Nerazzurri, Roma and Juventus, but won’t leave for less than €15m.

  1. Repubblica? Really? How can you even consider such a BS?

    1. Skriniar will extend, he is the captain.
    2. Koulibaly is sitting on 10M/year NET at Chelsea, Inter will never pay that amount.
    3. Smalling is a typical Inter transfer [on a free].
