The Ivorian has been out injured since he moved to Florence in January, but the 22-year-old recalls his first chat with President Rocco Commisso after having moved from the Rossoblu this winter.
“I still remember the call from Commisso when the transfer was complete,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “He said he had been impressed by me since the second game of the season, when we beat Viola.
“Now, I just want to repay his trust on the pitch, scoring my first goal, maybe at the Franchi.”
Kouame had scored five times and contributed three assists in 11 Serie A matches before suffering an ACL rupture in November.
Fiorentina agreed an obligation with conditions to buy the centre-forward after his initial loan spell of six-months and Kouame was asked if he would prefer to play as up top or as a second striker at Viola but directed the query to coach Beppe Iachini.
“You must ask Iachini this, I’m ready to play anywhere. Right now, I could even play in goal."
