Juventus are growing increasingly unlikely to secure a deal with Manchester United before the close of the summer transfer window later this week, as the Bianconeri have not yet been able to shift Filip Kostic and Arthur Melo.

Juventus put Sancho on stand-by

Though Juventus have already brought in eight first-team players this summer, they had been pursuing a deal with United to sign Sancho on loan for the season.

Juve sent their first formal proposal to United on Wednesday, informing them that they would be willing to pay around €7m-€8m for the loan fee, in a similarly structured deal to the one that brought Francisco Conceicao over to the Allianz Stadium from Porto last week.

However, according to reports in Italy, Juventus have decided to put the move on stand-by.

Sancho’s hefty wage packet is understood to be an issue, as is the fee that it would take to sign him on a deal that would probably not be permanent.

Additionally, Juventus have not yet been able to arrange exits for unwanted first-teamers Kostic and Arthur, which Gianluca Di Marzio believes is also an issue for the Bianconeri.
