Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny admits they need to get out of “a negative spiral” when facing Milan in the Europa League.

The first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 kicks off at San Siro on Thursday at 18.00 GMT.

The last time the Gunners visited Milan, they were destroyed 4-0 in the 2011-12 Champions League Round of 16.

“It was a different game, because a lot of different players – a lot of big players – like Zlatan Ibrahimovic were involved. It was very difficult,” noted Koscielny in a Press conference.

Arsenal are in a deep crisis with dismal Premier League results and a humiliating loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final.

“We are disappointed with our results and disappointed with how we played. We need to focus on our game tomorrow, to be together.

“It doesn’t matter what’s going on outside, we need to stay together like a team. We are in a negative spiral and it is difficult to get out of this, but step by step, we know that we can come back stronger.

“We need to have a positive voice in our head, because the brain dictates our legs, our body.”
