Juventus have submitted their first offer for Atalanta ace Teun Koopmeiners, keen to beat out competition from clubs like Liverpool.

The 26-year-old Dutchman was one of the best midfielders in the Italian topflight this term, playing a crucial role in la Dea’s historic success in the Europa League and their charge to Champions League qualification.

Koopmeiners attracted the attention of Juventus, Liverpool and various other top clubs due to his strong and consistent performances for Atalanta, scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Koopmeiners offer

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com and page 12 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport detail how Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has sent in an offer to Atalanta for Koopmeiners, proposing a fixed €40m fee with €5m in add-ons.

This is below la Dea’s €60m valuation, which they aren’t willing to budge from, forcing the Old Lady to alter their offer. Giuntoli is thinking about trying to include youngster Dean Huijsen in a deal to help lower the costs.
