Teun Koopmeiners has proven himself an indispensable part of Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta squad and his work in front of goal is reflective of Dutch legends like Clarence Seedorf and Ruud Gullit.

La Dea currently sit 7th in the Serie A table and will be dreaming of a possible Champions League finish, being just four points behind fourth place hopefuls Milan.

Amidst some inconsistency, Atalanta have looked their usual electric selves this season, scoring 51 goals in 31 games, including a thrilling 8-2 thrashing of Salernitana back in January.

As highlighted by Opta, Koopmeiners has become the first Dutch midfielder to score at least seven goals in a single Serie A campaign since Seedorf back in the 2007-08 season, when he netted seven for Milan.

The last Dutch midfielder to score at least eight goals in the Italian topflight was Gullit, who incredibly netted 12 times in the 1994-95 campaign for the Rossoneri.
