Teun Koopmeiners is refusing to train with Atalanta as he tries to force through a move to Juventus this month, reports detail.
The 26-year-old Dutch midfielder has clearly been the Bianconeri’s primary target of the summer transfer window for a while now and has already agreed terms with the club, accepting a five-year contract worth around €4.5m net per season.
Juventus still haven’t agreed a deal with Atalanta for Koopmeiners, with their circa €55m offer failing to convince the Bergamo outfit. In an interview on Thursday, Gian Piero Gasperini claimed the midfielder had an agreement with the Old Lady and wasn’t training.
Koopmeiners tries to force move
On the advice of his agent Bart Baving, who arrived in Italy over the last few days, Koopmeiners presented a medical certificate to Atalanta to stop training due to health reasons, linked to stress, Calciomercato.com details.
The 26-year-old hasn’t trained with la Dea for the last two days and will not take part in their friendly against St Pauli. There are also serious doubts regarding his availability for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup clash with Real Madrid.
