AZ Alkmaar captain Teun Koopmeiners has confirmed his transfer to Atalanta should finally be completed next week.
The negotiations have been dragging on for months and he already vented his frustration that it was taking longer than expected.
However, a deal was finally struck between the clubs for €14m, the player agreeing a four-year contract with option for a fifth worth €1.5m per season.
“I can honestly say that I hope the deal goes through and I think we’ve reached a point where the clubs can agree,” Koopmeiners told Voetbal International.
“Ultimately, all the parties involved must feel they are benefiting from the situation and are satisfied with it. I feel that we’re at that point.”
