Teun Koopmeiners could be set to return to first-team training with Atalanta, despite Juventus being close to reaching a final agreement with La Dea for his transfer.

Juventus still waiting for Koopmeiners deal

Gasperini confirmed earlier this month that Koopmeieners is no longer training with the first team squad in Bergamo, as he had requested to join Juventus. Reports from Corriere dello Sport suggest that the Dutchman even went as far as providing doctor’s notes, signing him off due to stress.

However, that situation is due to change, as the player is due to attend Atalanta’s training session on Wednesday and could also participate with his colleagues.

That is despite the fact that Juventus are close to agreeing the terms of a transfer with Atalanta, who have put a €60m asking price on the Europa League-winning playmaker.

Juve’s latest offer stood at €52m plus €7m in bonuses, all in just €1m shy of the requested fee.

Koopmeiners remains keen to join Juventus by the end of the transfer window, Corriere dello Sport confirm.
