On Friday, he caused uproar when refusing to turn up for training, infuriating Coach Luciano Spalletti.

While Valencia confirmed they made an offer, the Nerazzurri won’t release Kondogbia for less than €30m.

It’s possible the Spaniards could include players to lower the price-tag, such as Joao Cancelo or Ezequiel Garay.

However, La Repubblica newspaper now claim that Kondogbia’s representatives contacted Juventus to ask if they were interested in making a bid.

The Bianconeri have been seeking a rugged midfielder all summer and at the moment seem closer to Paris Saint-Germain veteran Blaise Matuidi.

Other sources note Juve are trying to coax Kevin Strootman from Roma, although he has a €45m release clause in his contract.
