Sky Sport Italia report that Atalanta have agreed terms with former Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac, who is a free agent after his Olympique Marseille contract expired.
The centre-back just turned 30 this month and this will be his first Serie A experience, although he was linked to several clubs in Italy in recent years.
It is suggested he has reached a verbal agreement with Atalanta and will be in Italy for a medical next week.
He can then put pen to paper on a two-year contract with an option to extend for a third campaign.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was born and raised in Germany, starting his career at Karlsruhe, then moving on to Hoffenheim, Stuttgart, Schalke 04 and Arsenal before a free transfer to Olympique Marseille in January 2022.
Kolasinac made 41 competitive appearances for Marseille this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist, so is going to be a valuable asset in attack as well as defending for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
