Aleksandar Kolarov has decided to stay with Roma and could even have a future role as a director, it’s reported, rather than join Bologna.

The 34-year-old has been at the Stadio Olimpico since 2017 and is under contract until June 2021, although there is an option to automatically extend to 2022 if he plays a certain number of games.

There had been interest from Bologna, where he’d reunite with old friend Sinisa Mihajlovic.

However, the Corriere dello Sport claims that not only has Kolarov decided to stick with Roma, he is making it a long-term pan too.

The idea would be to retire in 2022 and then take on a new role as a director with the Giallorossi.
