Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman confirms Memphis Depay, who had been linked with Juventus, is on the verge of joining the Blaugrana.

The Netherlands forward seems set to join the Catalan giants on a free transfer this summer, as his deal with Olympique Lyonnais expires at the end of the month.

Juventus had been linked with the Dutch star but reports in Italy claimed the former Manchester United player will move to Camp Nou.

Barcelona beat Juventus to Depay signing

Former Holland CT Koeman has confirmed the 27-year-old, who has scored 26 goals in 65 caps for the Oranje, is close to reuniting with him at Barca.

“It’s not signed yet, but it’s almost there,” Koeman told Voetbal International. “I wanted to sign him in January, if it happens now, that’s great.

“We know what we can do together.”

Depay started his career with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands and joined Manchester United in July 2015 but struggled to convince at Old Trafford.

He moved to Lyon in 2017 and has since excelled in Ligue 1, where he has scored 76 goals and contributed 55 assists in 178 games with Les Gones.
