Udinese confirmed midfielder Andrija Balic will go under the knife tomorrow for a knee ligament injury.
The 20-year-old Croatian made 21 Serie A appearances this season, along with three in the Coppa Italia.
He sprained his right knee during training last week and was also diagnosed with a lesion to the collateral ligament.
Following further tests, the club announced Balic will have surgery on Wednesday to stabilise the ligament.
The operation is at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome.
