Justin Kluivert’s permanent move from Roma to Nice is in danger of collapsing with the French club missing out on Champions League qualification.
The former Ajax winger is on loan from the Giallorossi and there was a clause in the contract which obligated him to join Nice on a permanent deal for €15 million should they qualify for Europe’s premier competition.
Nice still have an outside chance of reaching the Europa League as they are in sixth place and two points of Rennes in fourth with one match remaining.
If they were to finish fourth, they would still have the option to make the deal permanent but in that case would need the player’s OK.
Kluivert joined Roma from Ajax with high expectations in 2018 but struggled to impress in the Eternal City.
He was loaned out to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in 2020 but returned to Rome at the end of the campaign and then moved to Nice.
Kluivert has five goals in 20 appearances for the French side.
Riscatto obbligatorio #Kluivert–#Nice saltato.
