Patrick Kluivert underlined his hopes amid Fulham’s interest in his son Justin, who is on the transfer list at Roma.

The 23-year-old Dutch forward fell out of favour in the Italian capital over the last few years and has spent time on loan with both RB Leipzig and Nice. Kluivert performed decently well during both his loan spells but still couldn’t break into the first team in the Italian capital, and now he looks set for another departure.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Patrick Kluivert discussed his son Justin’s links to Fulham and what the 23-year-old needs to progress his career.

“I hope the club will provide, because Justin has his own history to write and deserves a club that will play him consistently. It’s crucial for his development.”

Last season whilst on loan with Nice, Kluivert made 31 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2159 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided six assists.

Media reports suggest that Fulham will soon sign the Dutch forward on a loan deal with a €9.5m obligation to buy clause attached.
