Justin Kluivert will return to Roma in the summer after Nice’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

The 23-year-old Dutch winger joined the French outfit on a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause last summer and he’s put in a good shift under Christophe Galtier, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances this campaign. In the Coupe de France he had an amazing match against Olympique Marseille, scoring twice and providing an assist.

As highlighted by TuttoMercatoWeb, Kluivert will return to the Italian capital in the summer and re-join Jose Mourinho’s Roma squad. Nice’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means that the €15m obligation to buy clause was not triggered, and they’re only willing to pay a lower sum now.

Due to this, he’ll return to Rome, where it’s unclear if he’ll manage to carve out a spot in Mourinho’s first team or be transfer listed again. His current contract expires with the Giallorossi next year.
