German hitman Miroslav Klose admits he “can’t grasp what happened” after setting a new World Cup record.
The 7-1 victory over Brazil booked their spot in the Final, but was also his 16th goal in 23 games – more than any other player in the history of this tournament.
“I can’t grasp what happened. I don’t know what to say. We played really well, had a great start, were harmonic and did everything we tried out in training,” Klose told FIFA.
“Even the players on the bench were able to share our sentiments during the game.
“I was ready when Toni (Kroos) gave me the ball. I was able to score, I am truly happy.”
