Miroslav Klose hopes Lazio can be “ready for Juventus” in the Italian Super Cup after a fourth consecutive friendly defeat.

The German striker was given the captain’s armband for a 3-0 loss to Mainz and summer form is disastrous leading into the August 8 Italian Super Cup with Juventus in Shanghai.

“I am happy to be back here in my homeland, but I am convinced we should’ve done more,” Klose told Lazio Style Radio.

“I am happy to be back here in my homeland, but I am convinced we should’ve done more,” Klose told Lazio Style Radio.

“We just need to keep working hard over the next few days to prepare for the challenge with Juventus.

“We must go out to China and get accustomed to the climate, find the right tempo and aim to do our best in that match.

“We had many scoring opportunities today and the important thing was to break the deadlock. We must improve and learn to take our chances.”
