The 36-year-old striker was picked ahead of Filip Djordjevic for tonight’s big Serie A match.

“I am still in good shape, even if I was out for three games. The important thing is that the team does well,” Klose told Sky Sport Italia.

“Today we have to confirm that we are worthy of third place. This will be my fifth start of the season and I still know how to hurt opponents.

“I hope that we win tonight, which is the really important thing.”

The German international will also face off against Rodrigo Palacio for the first time since the World Cup Final.

“Football moves quickly and it’s all in the past now. I hope Palacio doesn’t play as well as he did in the Final!”

Klose also encounters his old Lazio teammate Hernanes, who is on the Inter bench this evening.

“He’s a great player and helped me to score many goals.”
