After struggling in the final stretch of Lazio's Serie A season with a thigh strain, Miroslav Klose has declared himself fit this summer for Germany.

The 33-year-old Polish-born striker top-scored for the Aquile last term, despite missing a chunk of the run-in with a problematic thigh injury picked up in March.

That saw the forward miss over six weeks of action for the Italian capital club, but, now selected for his adopted national team and preparing for Euro 2012, the former Bayern Munich man has confirmed that the lengthy lay-off has left him fully recovered.

“I no longer have any pain, my knees are holding up, I’m not tired and I can still drag myself around,” he joked to the assembled media this week.

“I feel very positive for this European Championship, we have a super team with super players and we arrive for this competition very well prepared.”

Klose also reflected in an interview with German publication Sud Zeitung of his happiness in Rome.

“I’m fine, it’s a fantastic team. My family lives in Rome and we are very good, whilst my Italian is moving forward too.”
