Miroslav Klose said Germany “want to return to the Maracanà” for the World Cup Final, but first need to get past Brazil.
The Lazio striker helped his side see off France 1-0 in the quarter-final on Friday in Rio de Janeiro and face the hosts on Tuesday.
“I had come here on vacation in 2000 and saw the old stadium. It’s still a legendary place with such a great atmosphere. We want to return to the Maracanà,” Klose told TMW.
“What is our secret? I don’t know, we just have a great squad and always want to prove our strength on the field.”
Klose has already matched Ronaldo’s all-time record of 15 World Cup goals and will take part in his fourth consecutive semi-final, but is in no rush for the 16th.
“The only important thing for me is to win the semi-final and reach the Final. Obviously, if I get a chance to score, then I’d like to take it.”
