Simon Kjaer’s contract expires at the end of the season and he invited Milan to make him an offer. ‘I am extremely happy to be here.’

The Denmark international captain is one of the key figures who transformed the side after his arrival in January 2020.

His current deal with the Rossoneri is due to expire in June 2022 and there seem to be no signs of a new agreement.

“I am not closer to a renewal, no, but I am in any case extremely happy to be here playing for the Rossoneri,” Kjaer told reporters while on international duty.

“I feel good, I enjoy playing and am enjoying life at Milan. The club knows my position and opinion on this. Whenever they want to resolve the issue, they know that they can call me.”

The centre-back currently earns circa €1.2m per season and an extension until June 2023 is not thought to be too big of a stumbling block for the 32-year-old.

4 thought on “Kjaer waiting for new Milan contract”
  1. That’s our most important midfielder and centre back out of contract in the summer. What on earth is going on at Milan?

  2. @db milan I differ about the most important CB, that is without a doubt Tomori. Kjaer is a monster, but Fik is our present and future. Of course, Simon will be renewed, no doubt about this

  3. @putuco I like Tomori a lot but I would say he’s getting there. Will be important for longer, sure but Kjaer runs that defence right now.

I wish the comments on Kessie’s contract were as positive!
