Milan defender Simon Kjaer sent a message to the fans and thanked ‘for all the support and messages’ after the Dane suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
The Denmark international has been ruled out for six months after suffering a terrible injury in the 3-0 win over Genoa last week.
Kjaer has been an important member of Stefano Pioli’s group since joining the Rossoneri in January 2020, but the coach might have to find a replacement in the upcoming transfer market.
Milan confirmed the centre-back has started his rehabilitation programme and the recovery times of approximately six months for the influential defender.
“Thank you so much for all the support and messages I have received,” Kjaer wrote on Instagram. “Looking forward to the hard work ahead of me now!! Sempre (always) Milan.”
