Milan were left concerned after Simon Kjaer limped off in Denmark’s friendly with Switzerland, but medical tests have proved reassuring.

The 34-year-old Danish centre back was forced off in the 66th minute of the goalless draw at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, looking frustrated and pained as he limped off the pitch. The incident immediately caused concern for the Rossoneri, especially considering his recent history.

Kjaer has missed at least seven Serie A games through muscle issues this season and has seen just over 1378 minutes of action across 22 total appearances, mostly being a backup option in Stefano Pioli’s Milan squad.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Kjaer underwent a round of medical tests with the Denmark national team today which confirmed that he’d avoided suffering any injuries. Whilst he felt a complaint during the match, his early substitution averted a possible issue.

Milan can now breathe a sigh of relief and will likely be able to count on the 34-year-old for their first game back from the international break against Fiorentina on March 30th.
