Milan defender Simon Kjaer reveals he could end his career with the Rossoneri: ‘It’s the perfect club for me.’

The Dane signed a two-year contract extension with the Serie A giants last month.

“I appreciated it, also because Milan’s policy is to renew for just one year with players who are older than 30,” Kjaer told BT as quoted by Milannews.

“This is the best signal the club could give me. I wouldn’t change my career, or maybe yes, I could have played for Milan for 15 years. Perhaps I could end my career here,” he continued.

“There isn’t any other place where I’d rather be. Everything fits perfectly with me: my teammates, the coach and our playing style.

“It’s the perfect club for me. My sons and my wife are happy in Milan.”

Kjaer joined the Rossoneri on a permanent deal from Atalanta in January 2020.

This past October, the 32-year-old signed a new deal until June 2024. He has played 68 games with the Rossoneri, scoring one goal.

Kjaer has been included in the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or.

Milan: Kjaer’s new salary revealed

In June, the Dane saved Christian Eriksen’s life when his compatriot collapsed during Denmark-Finland at UEFA Euro 2020.

Kjaer was the first to notice Eriksen’s problems and gave him life-saving aid before the arrival of doctors who gave him CPR and stabilised him in hospital.

  1. So happy to see a player who wants to be at Milan and shows his commitment in matches and renewal. Kessie, Donnaruma and Cala take notice. This is what loyalty looks like.
