Simon Kjaer has signed a two-year contract extension with Milan, reportedly getting a slight pay rise.

The Dane signed a new deal until June 2024 with Milan that announced his contract extension on Wednesday night.

Kjaer joined the Rossoneri in January 2020 and his previous agreement with the Serie A giants was due to expire in June 2022.

According to Calciomercato.com, Kjaer has obtained a slight pay rise with his new contract at San Siro.

Kjaer will get €1.5m-a-year plus add-ons, slightly more than his previous €1.2m-a-year salary.

The former Roma and Palermo defender has been included among the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or as recognition for his life-saving aid to Christian Eriksen during the Euros.

Milan are now in talks with Franck Kessié, who also sees his contract expire in June 2022. However, the Ivorian star has high economic demands and is likely to leave Milan as a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

  1. Leading by example! Other than Hakan and Gigio its really sad to see kessie leave but with his stupid demands ( or his agents ) its better to part ways. No one bigger than the club
