La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport claim Milan defender Simon Kjaer will replace Fikayo Tomori in Saturday’s derby della Madonnina as Pierre Kalulu won’t recover from a muscle injury.

Kjaer and Malick Thiaw are expected to start as Milan’s centre-backs in the derby against Inter tomorrow, report Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport.

The Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli is facing a selection crisis at the back as Tomori was sent off against Roma in the last Serie A game before the break, while Kalulu suffered a slight muscle injury while training at Milanello during the international break.

Kalulu is not expected to recover, so Thiaw, Kjaer, Mattia Caldara and the young Argentinean defender Marco Pellegrino are the only centre-backs available for the Rossoneri.

Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud also dealt with minor physical problems during the break but are expected to start against Inter.

Pioli will address the media at a pre-match press conference at 13:00 BST on Friday.
