La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Inter have the green light from Jakub Kiwior, but Fabrizio Romano suggests that no significant progress has been made on a deal.

The Gunners are on the cusp of securing a deal for Bologna centre back Riccardo Calafiori, willing to pay around €45m plus add-ons for the Italian talent. A deal hasn’t been easy to set up due to the various sell-on clauses linked to his career.

Calafiori’s arrival is bad news for Kiwior, whose minor role at Arsenal is now even more irrelevant. The 24-year-old defender only saw 945 minutes of action across 20 Premier League matches last term and has been transfer listed this summer.

Conflicting reports on Kiwior

Page six of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter have received the green light from Kiwior regarding a move this summer and that talks with Arsenal will be opened down the line, with the hope being to set up some form of loan deal.

Romano challenged this, suggesting that the Gunners haven’t been approached by the Nerazzurri and that nothing at all has been agreed with the Polish defender.
