South Korea defender Kim Min-jae reassured Napoli fans amid Manchester United speculation by insisting he is ‘irritated by transfer rumours. I’ve only been at Napoli for six months.’

The centre-back made the move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona from Fenerbahce in July for €18m as the replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.

He has been a revelation in Serie A and the Champions League, even scoring two goals, and made three appearances for South Korea at the 2022 World Cup.

This prompted inevitable transfer speculation, with some even suggesting Manchester United were ready to make a huge offer in the January window.

“I am really irritated by the transfer rumours around me,” Kim Min-jae told Korean television.

“I just arrived and have only been at Napoli for six months, I am very happy there. I avoided interviews because of things like this.”
