Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirmed Sami Khedira’s wage demands rule him out and he’s in favour of technology.

The Rossoneri are one of several clubs, including Arsenal, who have been linked with Real Madrid midfielder Khedira in January.

“He is a great player who I personally like a great deal,” Galliani told Tuttomercatoweb.

“However, his wage demands are so high that they will impede his arrival at Milan.”

Galliani was also asked about the team’s revival under Coach Pippo Inzaghi and the morale-boosting visits from President Silvio Berlusconi.

“Results always help. Pippo is very much loved by the fans and that is a bonus he has more than any other Coach. Inzaghi has the wind in his sails and I have not heard a single fan complain since we picked him for the bench.

“He was well loved as a player here and now as a Coach too. From the first game against Lazio at San Siro, there was a new atmosphere and a spark between Pippo and the crowd.

“Save for any last-minute commitments, Berlusconi will always be at Milanello. His presence is very important, as it’s a sign of his passion and love for this club.

“Our target is Champions League qualification. We achieved that 13 times in 15 years and this is the first season this Century that Milan have failed to get into Europe. We also changed Coach three times in 12 months, so everyone needed to accept responsibility and I’ve seen that in more concentration and effort.

“I am not psychic, so I don’t know where we will end up, but I can say the wind is in our sails.”

This week the debate has raged over whether technology should be brought into football, including video replays.

“I think it is a good thing,” continued Galliani. “You see now practically all sports have some help from technology. There have to be specific criteria on when to apply the technology, but ruling out video replays seems a mistake to me. We have the means, so let’s use them.

“What do I make of the controversy around JuventusRoma? I have the right to remain silent.”
