Sami Khedira said Hertha Berlin ‘did everything to get me’ after his return to the German Bundesliga from Juventus.

Khedira arrived in Turin from Real Madrid in 2015 but Andrea Pirlo didn’t register the German to play in Serie A this term.

Khedira eventually moved on transfer deadline day and returned to his homeland, where he started his career with VfB Stuttgart.

The 33-year-old, who had been linked with a move to the Premier League, said he looks forward to start playing in the German capital.

“They did everything to get me and gave me a chance to return to the Bundesliga,” Kheidra said, according to news agency ANSA.

“I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and I feel good physically. I would like to help the team with the experience I have gained over the years and bring success to the squad.”

Khedira leaves Juventus after 145 games with the Bianconeri, contributing 21 goals and 13 assists in the process.
